This is a spacer to allow the use of 2.73 - 5.38 gears on 2.41 - 2.56 Carriers. 10 bolt 8.5" GM rears only have two carriers and the ratio splits are 2.41 - 2.56 on one carrier then, 2.73 - 5.38 on the other. This spacer lets you use a good 2.41 - 2.56 posi with 2.73 - 5.38 gears. YES, that includes, 3.08, 3.23, 3.42, 3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10, 4.30, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13, 5.38!!
